Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

YieldSentinel is operated by Pascal Chartre, based in British Columbia, Canada. We provide a browser-based operational analytics platform for businesses with physical goods — manufacturers, distributors, retailers, restaurants, and fleet operators.

2. Data we do NOT collect

YieldSentinel is architecturally designed so that the following data never leaves your device:

• CSV or Excel files you upload for analysis
• Production, inventory, financial, or operational data in those files
• Analysis results, charts, and export outputs
• Saved analyses stored in your browser's local storage

All analysis runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. No data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party server during analysis.

3. Data we do collect

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service:

• Email address — when you start a free trial or subscribe. Used to identify your account and send product updates. Never sold or shared with third parties.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor). We do not store your credit card details. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
• Browser local storage — your email, trial start date, plan status, and saved analysis results are stored in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device.
• Website analytics — we may collect anonymised page view data (pages visited, approximate location, browser type) to improve the product. No personal identifiers are collected.

3a. Anthropic API and AI-powered insights

YieldSentinel offers an optional AI-powered insights feature that uses the Anthropic API. If you choose to enable this feature, the following applies:

• API key storage — your Anthropic API key is stored locally in your browser only. It is never transmitted to YieldSentinel's servers.
• What is sent to Anthropic — only short, derived analysis summaries (e.g. "yield loss is 8.3%, top cause is trim variance") are sent to the Anthropic API to generate narrative commentary. Your raw CSV data is never sent to Anthropic.
• Disabling AI insights — you can disable AI-powered insights at any time in the app settings. No data is sent to Anthropic when the feature is disabled.
• Anthropic's data practices — Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. API data is subject to Anthropic's API usage policies. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy for details.

4. How we use your email

If you enter your email to start a free trial, we may send you:

• Product updates and new module announcements
• Trial expiry reminders
• Occasional tips on getting value from YieldSentinel

We will never send spam, sell your email, or share it with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing pchartre@yieldsentinel.com.

5. Cookies

YieldSentinel does not use tracking cookies. We use browser local storage to remember your session, plan status, and trial start date. This is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

6. Data retention

Your email address is retained for as long as you have an active trial or subscription, plus 90 days after cancellation. You can request deletion at any time by emailing pchartre@yieldsentinel.com. Local browser data can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's storage.

7. Third-party services

• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing. Their privacy policy governs payment data.
• Netlify — website hosting. Standard server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) may be retained by Netlify per their privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — font delivery via CDN. Standard CDN request logs may apply.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent to email communications at any time
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

9. Canadian and international users

YieldSentinel is designed to support privacy-conscious workflows and is operated in compliance with Canada's PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). Users in the European Union should note that by using our service, minimal personal data (email address) may be processed. We handle this data with care consistent with GDPR principles.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
